Our paediatric first aid course is designed for individuals aged 16 and above who require certification in first aid for caring for babies and children in professional settings. Whether you're an au pair, nanny, childminder, nursery worker, or sports and leisure staff, this course equips you with essential skills.

 

Hazard Free Safety sets the standard in paediatric first aid training, aligning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

• Duration: 2 days (09:00-17:00)

• Price: £600  MAX 12 Students

• Certification: Mental Health First Aid certificate (valid for 3 years)

Course Content:

• Unresponsive and breathing

• Unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

• Choking

• Bleeding

• Burnt or has a scald

• An object in their eye, ear or nose

• Hypothermia or heat exhaustion

• Has sickness or a fever

• Various medical emergencies like meningitis or asthma attacks.

Learning and Assessment:

​

Delivered in a classroom setting, our practical approach ensures learners gain confidence in applying first aid skills in real-life situations. Assessment includes practical demonstrations, Q&A sessions, quizzes, and engaging activities like roleplay.

Additional Information:

Participants should be physically capable of participating fully in the course. 

​

Certification and Recognition:

​

Successful completion results in a Paediatric First Aid certificate valid for three years. Our course aligns with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and is recognized by OFSTED. It can also serve as evidence for an NVQ in childcare and education.
